Job
Bank
The Job Bank
provides a single point of contact for employers who have job
listings they wish to post. It also offers several convenient
methods for that contact:
Experienced and
professional staff will enter your job opening specifications,
including requirements and qualifications, into an automated
computer system that will make your job posting available
immediately to all of our locations. The job posting is also
made available statewide through our Internet site on Kentucky’s
Job Bank and nationally on America's
Job Bank. This ensures that your job openings receive
maximum exposure to job seekers locally, statewide and nationally.
When you list your
job opening with the Department for Employment Services Job Bank,
you are making your position available through the largest and most
widely recognized labor exchange systems available to job seekers
and employers today!
Job
and Service Seekers
The Kentucky Department for Employment
Services (DES) has the largest and most diverse computer-based
applicant pool in the area. Annually, there are over 300,000
Job and
Service Seekers statewide who register with DES. They are
individuals who possess a variety of work experiences, skills, and
educational backgrounds. From high school graduates to PhD's;
unskilled laborers to highly skilled, professional, managerial and
technical. These are individuals who are employed but are
seeking a career change, those that are under-employed, those who
wish to relocate and the unemployed who have lost their jobs due to
downsizing and the effects of supply and demand.
Locally, the DES
offices serving Scott and the surrounding counties provide
services to approximately 8,000 to
14,000
Job and Service Seekers annually. An employer who has
job openings listed with our agency will be able to take advantage
of this large applicant resource.
In today’s tight labor market it
only makes good business sense to access every available resource.
Why wait, contact us today at 502-863-2402
or
on-line
to post all of your job openings.
Employer
Services Representatives
The Employer
Relations Representatives (ERRs) are individuals who act as
liaison between the employer and Department for Employment Services
(DES) staff. The ERRs will visit your company to inform and explain
to you the many programs and services offered through our agency.
They can provide you with information pertaining to tax
credits, labor market
information, testing,
employee
recruiting, setting up a special interviewing process or guiding an
employer through the maze of Internet resources now available.
If you would like a DES representative to visit your company to
provide information and materials please contact Ted Beebe at 502-863-2402
or email desscott@mail.state.ky.us
Recruitment
and Mass Application
Assistance can be provided to
employers in the initial start-up of a new company, company
expansions, seasonal hiring, or just to fill vacant positions as
they occur. We can provide assistance in recruitment, testing,
taking and screening applications and resumes. Local DES staff will
go on site to an employer’s place of business or provide space in
any of our offices for application taking, interviewing and testing.
If you are an employer in need of this type of assistance contact the
local Department for Employment Services Office
in your area. In Scott and the surrounding counties

Federal Contract Job Listings (FCJL)
All employers who have
contracts (or subcontracts) with the Federal Government of $25,000
or more are required by federal law to list their job openings with
the state employment agency in the state where the job openings
exist. These employers are required to use affirmative action in
hiring certain veterans to fill those job openings and must file an
annual report with Veterans Employment and
Training Services (VETS) showing the number of
Vietnam-era and special disabled veterans on their work force.
If you are an employer with a
federal contract, the Kentucky Department for Employment Services
(DES) will assist you with meeting your recruitment requirements of
the Federal Contractor Job Listing. Because DES is responsible for
administering the Veteran’s Employment and Training Program,
veterans automatically receive priority in referral on all job
openings. As an employer you will greatly benefit from hiring
hard working, disciplined, job-ready veterans who bring valuable
skills and experience in the latest technology to industries and
businesses like yours each day.
You may list your openings
on-line
or call the Georgetown Job Bank at

Enterprise
Zone
The
Enterprise
Zone Program
provides a substantial tax credit to businesses that
locate or expand their operations in areas designated as state
Enterprise Zones. To receive the tax credits, the employer must hire a
percentage of new employees from certain groups of job seekers. DES
helps such employers meet their obligations to hire from these targeted
groups by referring eligible job seekers to the employer for job
openings listed with DES. Additionally DES is responsible for
conducting employer orientations as well as certifying employees
eligibility. To locate the Enterprise Zone nearest you
visit the Kentucky
Enterprise Zone Authority web site.

Bruning, Director of the Kentucky
Enterprise Zone Authority may be reached by telephone
